I feel sometimes we have a distorted view of success. We live in an era where we are constantly surrounded by the success of the Kardashians, social media influencers, YouTube sensations, and overnight Tik-Tok fame.
This sometimes causes us to look at our life and feel that we have not accomplished anything. It may even bring us to the point where we feel that the dreams we do have are minuscule and don't carry impact.
Success should never be measured in time, status, or identity. But it is measured solely on the path you choose to take. Now, what does that path look like?
We may look at someone who works at a grocery store or a fast-food restaurant and feel that they have not obtained "success". But what if that individual was homeless previously? Or they are a recovering addict? I promise you they feel pretty successful at where they are at this point. And guess what? THEY ARE! But why are we so quick to judge someone on their PATH of success.
Why do we judge our own selves so hard while we are still in the process?
You can only gain confidence and freedom when you realize success should be measured in milestones and individual accomplishments. It's just not all about the end goal.
If you are constantly worried about where you will "end up" you miss out on enjoying the process of your path to success.
It's ironic how "goals" can discourage us and rob us from seeing successes we have already made.
Sometimes it is good to look back and see where we have come from. Focus on your achievements rather than your pending goals and you will see how much success has been achieved already.
I have nothing against quick fame, and overnight sensations. But I truly believe when you go through the process of success which comes with disappointments, tears, rejection, failures, etc. your end success is so much sweeter. Learn to fall in love with the process. In the process, you learn wisdom, humility, and patience
Success isn't just about how high you are going, but it's about how high did you pull yourself up.
What does success look like to you?
